  9. Studies find that Artificial Grass is Good for Pets

    If you’ve ever had a yard and a pet, you may be familiar with the old problem that the family dog takes a liking to eating grass, hence making him irregular or making him sick as it’s not a regular part of its diet. It’s a common issue, and one that raises concerns for people considering artificial grass. Most kinds of Stoney Creek synthetic turf are made primary out of recycled tires/petroleum products, such as polypropylene. Will the dog still follow the same pattern of behavior, or will the dog notice the change in smell and texture and leave the fake grass alone? What if the animal decides to eat the polypropylene grass? Will it get sick?

     

    My response to this is that there have been numerous studies that have shown that dogs are typically not interested in eating Toronto synthetic lawn as it has a very different texture and smell that isn’t appealing to dogs. If the dog does decide to attempt to bit at it, it will find that the blades are very hard to remove — they’re thicker, stronger, and are attached firmly rather than being loosely rooted in the ground. The odds of the animal being sick, if anything, vastly go down when you switch to the new grass. On top of that, the artificial grass is also cleaner than real grass. There’s no mud created on the surface of the Oakville putting green when it rains, so an animal rolling around outside doesn’t create the same terrible mess as it does with fake grass.
